I will be the first to admit that I love Valentine’s Day. I can’t decide if it is the color scheme, the chocolate or the overall cheesiness associated with the holiday, but I love it all. Some say it is a fictional holiday created only for men to be judged for their lack of romanticism (this is likely true.) To me, Valentine’s Day shouldn’t only be about couples. It should be about best friends, sisters, brothers, parents, grandparents, neighbors, teammates and everyone in-between.

It is also a perfect opportunity to love and treat YOURSELF. You deserve it! Show yourself a bit of the appreciation you deserve, by not focusing on the need to have a significant other in order to enjoy this day.

Yes, girls that receive flowers on Saturday will immediately Instagram the bouquet with a sappy caption and multiple filters, but you can’t let this get you down. I look at it as a day to remind those closest to me just how much I love them in my life. Spend the day with your best friends, celebrating a day of relaxation, desserts and their friendship. If all else fails, these are the best V-day treats that I have found. A little retail therapy never hurt anyone.

Enjoy, loves!

xoxo Heather

Charcoal Cleansers

Posted on by

Charcoal SoapI want to share two of my favorite cleansing treatments. The first is Lush’s Dark Angels Facial Cleanser. The second is Basin’s Bamboo Charcoal Soap bar.

Charcoal is a natural blemish fighter, as it helps to remove impurities and toxins, leaving your skin smooth and clean. Dark Angels is the perfect scrub for oily or dull skin because the grains of charcoal in the scrub lift dead skin away, revealing soft healthy skin underneath. One of my favorite features in both of these cleansers is that not only does natural charcoal absorb skin’s oil, but it also moisturizes without a thick residue.

I love these two products because they are handmade and sold by weight. I researched how to make my own charcoal scrub, but it is actually less expensive to buy one of these products. For both of these cleansers, if you buy in-store, you are able to select the amount of product you purchase. Here are some other cleansers which contain charcoal that you can find at your local drugstore. I hope this helps!
