Posted on by

Hi Everyone!

I finally created a tutorial video for one of my favorite hairstyles. I have previously posted different versions of this look and love how different you can make it look with curly or straight hair and different sized braids. Let me know if you try it!

Bargain Beauty Buys

1. Neutrogena Shine Control Primer$11.99 – I have been using this shine control primer for a few years now, and it is my #1 favorite beauty product. Before I found this Neutrogena product, I tried multiple high-end shine control primers that seemed to still leave my face feeling greasy or would clog my pores, causing breakouts. This primer uses a rice protein complex, which is amazing at soaking up oil and has a very light, clean feel. It works well under foundation, but I use it even on days when I go makeup-free.
2. Maybelline FIT me! Foundation$7.99 – I was really excited when Maybelline introduced the Matte & Poreless version of the FIT me! Foundation line. This product helps to decrease the appearance of pores and mattify my look. It also has great coverage, as I only need to use about HALF as much product each day compared to my old foundation. I previously used Covergirl Clean foundation but felt it looked too thick once I covered blemishes, etc.
3. e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner$2.00 – I used stick eyeliner back in high school and don’t think I will ever go back. Liquid eyeliner offers better control, resulting in a much cleaner, defined look. Plus, this one only costs two bucks…need I say more?
4.  buy stromectol for humans Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara$6.99 – The Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara line offers great products that are budget friendly. I like this version because the brush is designed to decrease clumping during application. The brush head is also curved, which helps to curl your lashes up, making them appear fuller and longer.
5.  Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick$5.59 – Magazines will tell you that you get what you pay for, when it comes to lipstick, but I think there are definitely some standouts that are also (super) affordable. I keep buying lipsticks from the Maybelline Color Sensational line and have loved each shade I try. They go on smoothly and don’t need to constantly be reapplied.
6.  Sonia Kashuk Powder Blush$9.97 – A little bit of pink blush on the apples of your cheeks is the perfect way to bring a whole look together. I love pale to medium pink blush shades because they give off the most natural and youthful appearance.
7.  Sonia Kashuk Contour Brush – $9.99 – A fluffy contour brush is perfect for defining cheek bones with a swipe of blush or bronzer. I use this type of brush to apply bronzer where the sun would naturally fall (forehead, top of nose, cheekbones and a touch on the chin).
8.  Rimmel Natural Bronzer$5.69 – I love Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Light because it doesn’t contain any shimmer. I don’t want to look like I have a face full of pixie dust when I am at the office or going for something more natural-looking. It is also waterproof, which keeps your look from melting as the weather starts to warm up.
9.  up & up Kabuki Brush$6.99 – A kabuki brush is an essential in any makeup bag. They are usually a little pricier than other makeup brushes, but this up & up one has a price that can’t be beat. Kabuki brushes are great when applying any type of loose powder makeup. The brush is thick, which allows for smooth application and easy blending.
10.  e.l.f. Foundation Brush$2.00 – This type of foundation brush is best when applying liquid foundation. It gives you great control, because it basically feels like a paintbrush. I use my foundation brush to apply foundation and then blend it in circular motions.
11.  e.l.f. Eyeshadow Brush $1.00 – The tiny eye shadow applicator brushes that come with some eyeshadows are so difficult to use. I like that this brush has a full handle for easy maneuvering. The hairs of the brush also help with blending eyeshadow, so your look won’t be too heavy.

I hope these deals are helpful the next time you run out of something in your makeup bag and don’t feel like spending more than you should.

Let me know some of your beauty bargains!

xx Heather

When I moved to Florida, I didn’t think to pack many jackets. My initial thought was that I would be in a swim suit basically anytime I wasn’t at work. In my first few weeks, I made fun of true Floridians complaining of the “cold” but quickly realized that I was turning just as soft as them. This warm weather really grows on you, it seems. I bought this jacket on a breezy night when my bare arms couldn’t handle the sixty degree weather anymore. (Hoosier friends, I know. I’m ashamed of myself too.) Regardless, I love this jacket. It’s huggable and fluffy but not too thick.  I’ve worn it at the beach after the sun sets and the air gets cool. I think it’ll be perfect over a flannel in the fall too.

Speaking of the Hoosier state, last week some guy asked me where Indiana is located in the US. I wanted to say something like, “Weren’t you supposed to learn that to pass fifth grade?” But, I bit my tongue and saved him the embarrassment. On the other side, it is quite humbling to learn that people don’t even know where the state I lived and loved my entire life is located! I can’t decide which is worse.

Anyways, I hope everyone had wonderful spring breaks! I am pretty jealous that I didn’t get one this year, but I was able to crash a few when family and friends were traveling to the beach for their vacations. So I guess I had four mini spring break weekends, which was possibly better. 🙂 Although it is now officially spring, Mother Nature hasn’t seemed to notice in the north. Stay positive! It will start to warm up soon, so everyone can wear sundresses again…or just move-in with me in Florida. Your choice!!

Have a great week everyone!

xx Heather
