Hi All!

Hoping everyone had a fabulous and relaxing weekend. I always plan to catch up on sleep over the weekend. When each weekend actually comes, I want to use it to its full advantage, and that extra sleep never happens. Does anyone else have that problem?

This weekend, my company had its annual holiday party in downtown LA. Before the party began, the more junior employees all headed over to cool bar that is decorated like a dark and trendy library where we enjoyed some tasty cocktails. I ordered a spicy margarita which I have decided is the greatest thing ever; it combines two of my favorites – a margarita and … anything spicy. Then it was time to head over to the party. The venue was stunning and I had a blast with my work friends. It is so fun to see people outside of a work setting and just enjoy each other’s company.  However, the best part of the night was a tie between the mac and cheese buffet and the mini chicken and waffle bites. These definitely kept the boyfriend happy.

I also went to The Grove, which is completely decked out in Christmas decorations right now. It is the closest to the caliber of Disney Christmas decorating that I have ever seen. All the trees are wrapped with lights to the very top of each branch, large sparkling stars hang over the walkways, a band of “toys” play Christmas tunes, and a light snow falls every hour. It is difficult to not be completely enamored by the joy that Christmas brings. I love the anticipation for the holiday as much as the actual holiday itself – it is all about enjoying the entire season.

Have a wonderful week!

xx Heather

Hi Friends!

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving full of family, friends, and delicious food. November and December make up my absolute favorite time of the year because they are centered on being with those you love most. I surprised my mom for her birthday by coming home four days earlier than she thought. She was very excited but a little more terrified surprised than I expected, so I won’t be doing that anymore, ha! Now for me, more than ever, I truly appreciate each moment I get to spend with my family and friends back home. I am amazed by how lucky I am to have such a supportive family and friends that can pick up like we have been apart for minutes versus multiple months.

In preparation for my week in Indy, I spend way too much time packing my suitcase, attempting to plan what I would be doing each day with a corresponding outfit. Turns out, I spent a very large majority of my Thanksgiving week in flannel pajamas. (I’m not ashamed in the slightest. I think this was the better option anyways.)  Looking forward to Christmas, packing will be a lot easier with just pajamas in the suitcase. I’m only sort of kidding. 😉

Now, I’m finding it very difficult to jump back into work for the next few weeks with Christmas coming up! I have been looking up way too many cookie recipes, bought a tiny glitter tree, and am also working on a holiday gift guide for all different price ranges that I will be sharing soon.

For now, I thought I would share this adorable champagne colored skirt with red sweater combo. It’s simple (and super affordable) enough to toss on for dinner but looks dressy enough for a festive holiday party, just add a sparkly necklace and some pumps.

Cheers!

Heather
